2000 Miles Later...
We are finally home! We had a whirlwind holiday season, but it was very fun. Chris had 11 days straight off of work (where did all of those days go?) so we decided to do a little tour of the surrounding states. We started in Arkansas for a visit with Chris's family. (See previous post) We drove on Christmas day to my parents house in Dallas and spent a few days with them doing after Christmas shopping , making gingerbread houses, and seeing movies. We had a great time, then we decided to come home for one night to sleep in our own beds and break up the driving before we went to New Orleans to visit my friend. We ate lots of food, went to the French Quarter, let our kids play, did fireworks on New Year's Eve. Chris went on a great devastation tour given by Laurie's dad who is the authority on all things New Orleans. We had a ball and it made me miss having her here even more, but it was fun to visit. All she kept saying was, "when you come back for Mardi Gras...." I am sure we will find many excuses to go back and visit. So that in a nutshell was our vacation, 2000 miles in the car, three different states, lots of family traditions. Fun, but wow, I need a nap. Hope your holidays were happy!
